| Welcome
to Blunham SwapShop. A brief explanation should start us on
our way. Last summer, after a successful year in the garden of
crops from my fruit I thought to myself that it would be great if I
could swap some of the produce with other people in the village for
items that I did not grow (such as some vegetables). Wouldn't
it be a great idea if there was a register where I could find people
who also wanted to swap items they had grown in their gardens for
items that they had not grown.
I spoke with Colin (who looks after the Blunham domain) and he
kindly offered me some webspace and hosting for a simple set of
pages, that together create a Blunham SwapShop.
So here it is...
I have separated the items into four catagories as I am aware that
maybe as a swap for fixing a tap you may offer to mow a lawn.
The four catagories are: Food Items (grown from the garden,
eggs, or items made from foods grown in the garden such as jams or
honey); Plants (too often I have too many plants grown from seeds
that I would never use); Services (like I said you may be
able to offer a service and be willing for someone to offer an item
for that service); and Other Items (you may have items that
you made such as a knitted scarf or a wooden nest box)
There is only one rule - NO MONEY SHOULD BE EXCHANGED.
This should not be a place where you can make money.
How this works. All you have to do is email me with an item that you no longer
need or have in excess and what you would accept in exchange
(example - I would offer 2 lb of victoria plums (available in July) for a dozen
eggs). I will put your details on here
(preferably email address only) so that other people in the village
can contact you and let you know what they have to offer as a swap.
Use the format below as a sample and email me. Apologies,
but the email address is not hyperlinked - nor will any email
address be hyperlinked. This will save us all from mountains
of spam. You will need to type each email address out removing
any spaces that you find. |
